Frequently Asked Questions
What are Agent Skills?
Agent Skills are reusable capabilities that can be added to any AI coding assistant. They define instructions, tools, and workflows that extend what your AI can do โ like camera control, smart home integration, or specialized development workflows.
How do I install a skill?
Click "Fork" or "Download" on any item. For OpenClaw, skills go in your workspace's skills/ folder. Most items include installation instructions in their README.
What's the difference between Skills, Plugins, and Tools?
Skills are high-level capabilities with instructions and workflows. Plugins are code extensions for specific platforms (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.). Tools are lower-level building blocks (MCP servers, REST APIs, CLI utilities) that can be used by multiple systems.
Can I share my creations?
Absolutely! Head to the Forge to upload your servers, skills, plugins, and other creations. The more the community shares, the more powerful everyone's agents become.
What are Virtual Models?
Virtual Models are custom AI model endpoints that you can add to your agent. They can be fine-tuned models, specialized agents, or even workflow wrappers that combine multiple models for specific tasks.
How do Knowledge Bases work?
Knowledge Bases are curated collections of documents, APIs, and context that give your agent deep expertise in specific domains. They can include documentation, code examples, best practices, and reference materials.
Are these compatible with other AI tools?
Many items are designed to work across multiple platforms. Skills often work with any AI assistant that supports custom instructions. MCP servers work with Claude Desktop, Cursor, and other MCP-compatible tools. Check each item's README for compatibility details.
